Evelyn’s love for textile art began with her flock of Targhee sheep. She bred them for fine, long staple length wool and taught herself to process their fleeces.

Evelyn then learned to spin yarn and dye with wool with natural and acid dyes. She uses that yarn to knit, crochet and weave.

Evelyn is also a Native artisan from the Bad River Chippewa Tribe. Evelyn does beadwork, Ojibwe yarn bag weaving and is one of the few remaining practitioners of finger weaving.
